About us

A family business,
run in person

Swarnam began as one hall in Corlim and grew into a hotel and a restaurant on the same plot of land. Nobody here is a hospitality group. The people who own it are the people you meet on the day.

The business

One plot of land, three things to run

The hall came first — an air-conditioned room that carries up to a thousand guests, with a ground-floor buffet hall of its own so dining never interrupts a ceremony. Families kept asking where their relatives could stay, so the rooms went up above it.

Then Pangat, our pure-vegetarian restaurant, opened on the same premises — partly because guests needed feeding between functions, and partly because a kitchen judged by strangers every lunchtime is a better kitchen to cater your wedding from.

Since the beginning

The banquet hall

An air-conditioned room that carries up to 1,000 guests — 450 in theatre seating, 200 at tables — with a ground-floor buffet hall of its own.

Added for the families

The hotel

Four room types one flight above the hall — Deluxe to Executive Twin — so nobody drives home at midnight after a function.

The rooms →
Open to everyone

Pangat

A 100% pure-vegetarian restaurant on the same premises, open daily until 11:30 pm, and the kitchen behind our catering and tiffins.

Vision & purpose

What we are actually trying to do

Most people come to us once, for a day they will remember for the rest of their lives. That is the whole brief.

I

Answer the phone yourself

The person who quotes your function is the person who runs it on the day. No account managers, no handovers.

II

Feed people properly

Menus are built with you and cooked in our kitchen — Maharashtrian, North Indian, Rajasthani, Chinese, satvik and dedicated Jain, at the same standard.

III

Keep it under one roof

Hall, rooms, catering and restaurant on one plot, so a three-day wedding needs one address and one bill.

IV

Be a Goan house, not a chain

Local staff, local suppliers, and the manners of a Corlim family that has hosted its neighbours for years.

Both sides of the house

The hall in theatre seating, looking towards the lit gold stage
A thali with rice, dal, chapatis, salad, papad and side dishes on a steel plate
A Deluxe room showing the bed, wall-mounted television and mirror
A guest smiling over a forkful of curry
Hands holding a steel bowl of paneer biryani garnished with coconut and coriander
Rows of dressed chairs facing the decorated stage across the red carpet
The private dining room, set with a long table, blue and black chairs and a projector screen
A close view of palak paneer with paneer cubes and tomato wedges
A guest lifting a spoonful from a cashew-topped curry served in a steel bowl
Honey chilli carrots scattered with sesame seeds
A Deluxe room with the bed, television, wardrobe and desk in view
Paneer butter masala in a black bowl, with naan and a thali behind it
Mango lassi in a tall fluted glass with a lemon slice on the rim
The same round-table layout seen down the length of the hall
